Wasps in a wall cavity are less common than nests under the eaves, but it does happen around Caboolture. Wasps can get into the gap behind brick veneer through a weep hole, a gap around a pipe or a crack near a window frame. In timber homes, they may slip in through gaps in weatherboards or old wall vents.
Signs include wasps flying in and out of the same small hole in the wall, a faint buzzing sound behind the plaster, and wasps turning up inside near power points, light fittings or skirting boards. If that happens, keep the room closed and keep children and pets out until the crew has been.
